ARES: Vern Leavitt reported that our group is one of the most active in the state.

Charter School: Jon Spargo KC5NTW reported that the students are studying for the May 7 exam. One student moved to Cincinnati, took the exam and received her general license. The exam will be at 1:00 PM in the western most of the modules along the south side of the school property. Use door #1. Jon Spargo and Kalman Oravecz AJ5B can't be there for the exam. Prescott Grey W1PCG with Al Braun AC5BX and Anneliese Bowman AD6UY will conduct the exam. 5 charter school students and 3 from NM Tech are expected to take the exams.

The new school building will be completed on May 1. Principal Karin Williams is talking with Jon about possibly opening the ham class for the entire school district. Jon has received a 10 meter transceiver and an offer of another transceiver from Don Wood. It may be necessary to mount a free-standing antenna on the outside of the new school building. Prescott recognized Jon for his fine work in teaching students and all in attendance responded with loud applause.

LEPC: Doug May KF5AVG reported that monthly meetings have been moved back to the third Thursday (April 21) of the month at 10:00 AM in the County Annex. One special and one regular meeting were devoted to reports on the February arctic storm. We were surprised how many people and organizations suffered damage from lack of heat and frozen pipes. July 6, 7 Doug attended the State meeting of LEPC Chairmen and Emergency Managers in Albuquerque. Wednesday evening, July 6 he attended the Bernalillo county ARES meeting in Albuquerque.

Field Day Planning June 25, 26: Vern pointed out that Clark Field had been used in the past. A $50 deposit is required by the City. We can use the restrooms. Vern will bring his camper so off-duty hams can rest. We will have to set up antennas. We should have at least 3 people for security reasons. Jon Spargo said he would do the cooking. There will also be a group at Datil Wells Campground with Dave Johnson. A motion was made to use Clark Field for one team. Motion PASSED A motion was made to authorize spending up to $100 for food at Clark Field and $50 for Datil Wells. One donkey registered a nay, but the motion PASSED.
