SARA MEETING MINUTES - October 8, 2008 (approved 11/12/08)
Call to Order - Meeting was called to order at
Introductions - Former members and visitors were introduced including:
Speaker - Doug Boykin of the Socorro office of the New Mexico State Forestry Division made a short presentation in which he asked if there was interest on the part of SARA for adopting one of Socorro Riverine parks. Members asked questions regarding the responsibilities of such an undertaking. The matter was set aside for continued discussion.
Approval of Minutes
Motion made (Johnson; seconded by Leavitt) to approve the minutes of the September meeting. The motion passed.
Bill Brundage reported that as of September 30th, the SARA portion of the balance in the treasury was $3446.91. The
TARAbalance remained at $320.08
ARES: Mauger reported that the state's repeater in the Socorro area is not yet operational and information about its status will be requested at the statewide ARES meeting at the SARA/TARA Hamfest on 10/25.
LEPC: No report.
Johnson reported on the arrangements for banquet catering wich will be provided by M-Mountain Grill. Side selections were made and a per meal charge of $9.00 was established.
Grey will order 20 dozen donuts from Supermart
Mauger will see that the trailer and coffee making equipment are brought to the Fire Academy.
Boswell will have brisket, etc. at the hamfest for lunches
Leavitt will haul tables from NMT to the Fire Academy beginning at 2:00 pm om Friday, October 24 and see to the gathering and distribution of hamfest signage.
We will need someone to cover traffic control beginning at 7:00 am until the hamfest officially begins.
Johnson, Frawley and Leavitt will assist Brundage with ticket sales on the day of the hamfest.
