SARA MEETING MINUTES - November 9, 2005
Call to Order: Meeting called to order by Vice President Glenn Mauger in the SEC clubhouse at 7:30.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with one minor correction [cash in the bank was $3849.85 (corrected from $3849.25)].
Treasurerís report: Treasury stands at $3547.66, including the current profit figure from the hamfest, $237.52, though that will change. Treasurer's report accepted.
Introductions: Two new members were introduced, Zack Holcomb KE5DLE, and Prescott Grey.
There was a $50 gift certificate obtained for a prize for the fox hunt, but there was no fox hunt, so Ryan proposed that we raffle it off at the December social meeting; it was so moved, seconded, and approved.
Eighteen people filled out a feedback questionnaire, and information may be extracted from them later.
Total sales at the silent auction were $277. Glenn Mauger spent
$9.92 getting a key made for the old repeater cabinet, and elected to convert reimbursement toward membership.
The VE session had thirteen applicants (three from Socorro), fifteen elements were taken in all (two failed); successful applicants numbered five Technicians, three Generals, and two Extras.
LEPC Visit: Glenn Mauger reported on the LEPC visit to the Emergency Operations Center in Los Alamos and the State's DPS EOC near La Cienega (south of Santa Fe). It was generally agreed that the installation in Los Alamos is the Rolls-Royce of EOCs. Some good ideas were gleaned from the trip. The DPS facility includes a room designated for RACES.
New Business: The December meeting (the 14th) will as usual be a social meeting, and Vern Leavitt will investigate having it at the Roadrunner.
Adjournment: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:09 PM.
