SARA MEETING MINUTES, January 12, 2005
Call to Order: 7:32 pm by Glenn Mauger WB5OAF
Minutes: approved as posted on the web.
Treasurer's Report given by Ryan Snyder KC5WDT; two active members still owe dues.
Legalities: More records provided to CPA, and 501C3 papers should be signed by next week. Dave Johnson KB5YIW said the information on the web regarding corporate bylaws has been provided to the CPA. The originals are in the secretary's files.
HAMFEST: Bill Brundage K8HUH reported that the silent auction made $341, and only 2 items went to the dumpster. The silent auction saved us from losing money. There was good weather and a good crowd. Previous years postage and flyer printing was paid by other resources. If we limited flyers to NM only cost is projected to be $150; but want to include El Paso, Show Low, & Springerville. Need more room for Hamfest dinner; it was suggested that an RSVP be requested or there would be no guarantee to sit with the group.
REPEATER: Dave Johnson KB5YIW reported that the repeater works, but still want to install a solar panel and an EchoLink repeater at West Peak. Explore possibility of TARA assisting in repair of equipment. The County Fire replacement transmitter for paging and the antenna went to bid. Federal equipment is subject to narrow banding.
ARES: Jon Spargo KC5NTW advised that the LEPC meeting is next week. The County has $2900 to repair the trailer, which will be taken to Moriarty by Glenn Mauger WB5OAF for repair. Programmable Motorola radios possibly may be requested from VLA/NRAO, but will cost $25 each to reprogram. NTIA controls Federal agencies frequencies.
CHRISTMAS DINNER: went very well. Photos given to Dave Johnson KB5YIW to post on web.
